http://lacunae.io/DistributedBIMdashboard/dashboard/
An online application for tracking project progress across large master planning projects. Currently at prototype development the application demonstrates how distributed teams working using Autodesk's REVIT platform can share lightweight versions of the current state of their design responsibilities. Local updates to individual REVIT models are posted to a central server.
Users can view a volumetric three-dimensional model of the development and interact with a range of data visualisations that provide quick access to a variety of metrics describing the project (including; areas, volumes, uses, construction materials, estimated energy requirements, water parking).
Visualisation is based on master plan data contained in a set of shared files exported from BIM models developed by the master planner, design architects or executive architects. These files describe the project or a part of the project in terms of key metrics defining the proposed units, their areas, volumes and location within the scheme. Further meta-data may be included (use and materials) to extend the scope of the scope of the visualisations. When new shared files are uploaded the dashboard automatically updates to include the most recent changes. As new design versions are added previous states of project development can be viewed and compared with the current state. The prototype is accessible to any user with basic internet browser experience.
